Just in case you haven't heard, Diablo 3 will NOT have a single player mode, and all players must log into Diablo 3 online to play. I'm curious to see how you all feel about this.

Personally, I don't see any problems with it. I don't expect anyone to not have an Internet connection in this day and age, but that wasn't the case even six years ago. I knew a lot of people who didn't bother buying Internet service.

I don't see why they don't have single player feature. Now, I'm not biased or anything, I never play single player and I have a very stable connection, but I hate how they are making it so you can't play single player. They can pull the crap on how it'd be time consuming to make a single player version, but why not? Some people might not play B.net or they might not have a good connection, so basically they can't play D3.

IMHO Blizzard has gone down the tubes since they grouped with Activi$ion.
Diablo 1 only had single player (or that I can remember, it's been soooo long)
Diablo 2 had single player and Battle.net
Diablo 3 will only have Battle.net

Basically Blizzard is giving a huge F you to people who don't have good internet, or can't afford it.
If Diablo 4 ever comes out, I bet it will be P2P.

Not true.
It's just same as SC2 - you have to log-in to your B.net account, but you can still play alone.
There still will be single player mode.

D1 had Single and Multiplayer (First game I ever played over lan woopwoop, network cable between 2 PCs and rockrock!)

I honestly don't see any problems. You can get internet anywhere. Including airplanes. :P

I'm a member of the E-Mile High Club... which is pretty sad to be honest.

Ontopic it's most likely that the game does have single player it'll be like Starcraft 2 and you have to be online 24/7 to play it, or it requires a once a month check like SC2 does. I think there is something here that is heavily misconstrewed.

They said they made it like this so people don't get disappointed when they can't play online with their character. I honestly think it's a bad excuse. All you need is a warning for single player saying "Warning, this character will be ineligible to play on Battle.net, continue?" or something when you make a character, or no warning at all, I don't think Diablo 2 had many problems with people complaining their single player character couldn't play online.

I remember I used the mod to level myself to like ~80 because leveling was so boring after you had done it so many times lol.

Bad idea for ppl who wants to download D3 from (for example) torrents, will be much harder to crack, but personally i don't think any D2 veteran would do such a thing.
After playing S2 i have no doubts that also D3 will be worth every single penny.
