I stood back and used magic missle, but they would not go through the gate. If I was next to the gate I could use melee weapons.

Because he donated, you've contributed nothing. The reason the elite section exists is because it's for those OC trusts not to steal as "their own" and then go post it everywhere, thus expediting it's nerf.

What bothers me, is there doesn't seem to be any spells that actually reach him. And those that do, don't penetrate the gate. You're literally left hoping your familiar can VERY SLOWLY kill him off.

You guys must be doing something wrong. I've killed him with MM/Conflag only, MM + Meteor, MM + Hydra and MM + Arcane Orb with fire rune (shaky and misses sometimes). All of them hit him. I found the best is MM + Hydra with the last rune.

Strange, because my frost hydra wasn't reacting to his presence at all. Only thing hitting him was meteor shower, and twister with the staff that makes twister travel in a straight line.

Using MM+Arcane Orb does just fine for me, my hydra wouldnt shoot.
