How did you stabilized your gold per hour. You could kill 1000 mobs and get only 1 gold for each kill making 1000 gold total. Or you could kill 1000 mobs and drop 4000 gold each kill making 4000000 gold. And both scenarios can happen cause of the RNG. So talking about 40k ...

Without knowing OP's data, it seems to me that it wouldn't take too long to achieve a high confidence level of whether the follower adds Gold% or not. Random monster spawns and runs that aren't identical do add a lot more variance to the equation, but if the following holds true: "I farmed long enough for my gph to stabilize such that my gph only changes by about 1-2k gold every 30mins." over a decent period of time and through similar runs then it's most likely true.

okay so let's say I killed 1000mobs in 1 hour getting 1000 gold then another 1000mobs getting 4m gold, then my gph would be 2,000,500 gold. Take a class in statistics and learn that you can get a good approximation given enough sample data. I didn't have to calculate mine since I run hellbuddy which shows how much GPH you have by dividing the total gold collected over the total run time which is calculated every second. Trust me I'm an engineer(ing student).
