Still works.... you need to COMPLETE the act (that you go into in Inferno) to have it saved.

I start a game on Act 4 Quest 1 Normal - I kill the boss and get the checkpoint
I leave the game
Select Public Game and it automatically has Nightmare Act 2 Quest 7 which is where I was in my public games last I was playing.

it does not automatically allow me to go to Act4 in nightmare

I'm not sure if this works on non inferno difficulties just because well, I dont have a low enough lvl char to test with but...
You dont have to kill anything when you make the first game, just make it, leave and then join public, no need to kill bosses or get any checkpoints.

you still need to meet the requirements for the desired difficulty.
its not like you can skip from normal straight to inferno.

and it is/was the case that you just join a normal game with the desired quest, switch to public games on difficulty inferno and the desired quest/act should be highlighted and joinable.

was still working for me last night. but there is a problem, if you change difficulties, it will wipe a4 inferno from the list. however, i beat izual in a4 from the (first quest given from waypoint), and i'm thinking that since i completed an objective, it will save even if I go back to an easier difficulty. can anyone confirm this before it's fixed?
