Just got scammed about 6 hours ago.
The scammer's ownedcore ID is Pantera84, his skype is: jon.ampvin. Lost: $40+
It went like this. I was a new seller on ownedcore so I'm willing to sell a bit lower and ask for reps. There is this guy adding me on skype but didn't show up on the contact windows so I had to add him instead. He immediately proceeded to request to buy all my available gold. He added my BattleTag rightaway and immediately invite me in game and open up the trade window. I didn't feel safe so I told him I couldn't go first like that. He behaved very haughtily asking why my friends were in game (I have quick join enabled) and they it was my reputation that is doubleful. I proposed to trade a small amount first the increased incrementally in 3-4 trades, but he flatly refused and ask for 50% in 2 times, gold first, money afterwards. Then he started calling me a scammer and behaved like a distressed customer and told me that I am wasting his time.
Then he said he's a reputable long time member of ownedcore, so I checked his profile and saw that he was a so called "donator" and his membership is from 2009, but with very low post and a few reps. But of course it looked more impressive than my account, so I decided to went out on a limb and agreed to trade 50% each in 2 times with him, so long as he gave me a rep and vouches on ownedcore.
After I gave him 22.5mil, he started acting like he didn't trust my gold, so I told him is ok to give me my gold back.He even claimed that I insulted him by asking to trade for a small amount at first. He went out to ask me to give him the other 50%, without having paid even a single dime. So I told him to keep his word or otherwise I will report him on ownedcore. He challenged me to "report him on a completed transaction" but if you check the screenshots below, you will see that our agreed price was 22.5 mil x $1.79 = $40.27. There is no such transaction on my paypal history until now. He then said he sent the money already, and logged off Skype and disappeared until now.
I checked the fee for being a donator on ownedcore and saw that it was only $15 for 3 month. Our transaction value was almost tripple that. So learn from my lesson and be careful if those claimed donators with a superficially higher status when you do high value transactions.
I am giving him a chance to defend himself by sending him a link of this thread on Skype. Let's all see how this plays out. We all know we have a great actor (pretender) to entertain us, that is, if he dares show his face.
The whole scam conversation and my paypal account with no $40 transaction from him:
