UPDATE: Deathwing and the Maelstrom, and the Future of PvP

Shame of shames. Blizzard is basically stripping everything out of Cataclysm.

I'm starting to get concerned now for Azshara, the release date, and the quality.

If the Maelstrom is now going to be explorable, that means there's no where for Azshara to do evil magics, which leaves her viable for a raid boss in Cata... or even *shudder* a quest kill.

With all the step-backs and re-dos being done, the release date might be pushed to early 2011, or even late 2011.

And quality. I alluded to this on the WoW forums already, but everything original in cata is getting removed, the expansion is starting to look like half the WoW in a new package.
New races
HALF the new levels
NO new continent
new look to the world

Cata is still on Alpha and they are free to change, delete or implement the ideas they have. It is still too early to say "this is the ultimate lore whether you like it or not". It is not necessary to have Deathwing rising at the north of Stormwind to destroy it. He has wings and can go wherever he wants. It is the same as in the Scourge Invasion event. The Lich King is at the top of ICC, but his drakes and abominations hit both continents from there. It is really annoying, by the way, that just because the Maelstrom (or whatever is supposed to be) was leaked, an infinite number of rumors appear. If you are gonna say something massive, then give massive proof or gtfo.

And they are not removing talents. They will give all the talents level by level instead of making us choose. PvP guilds will ALWAYS exist, as well as PvE, leveling, centered or casual guilds. They existed before, they exist now and they will exist until they give an ending to this game. Talents don't have a thing to do there.

Bit of an unnecessary rage from kasuturo. It's just like WotLK they stated there would be Aerial PvP but instead of that they focused more on PvE. WoW is great for PvP purely because of it's fast paced style of play. Aion has done great things in terms of PvP but there PvE (leveling) lacks a whole lot.

personally dokhidamo i dont want another continent. its annoying having to quest all alone in a giant empty continent, when i leveld my alt from 60-70 in the oulands i saw maybe 1 or 2 difernt people the ENTIRE TIME... plus azeroth is getting stale i think a new look + flying mounts will be a nice touch up. and im sure there will still be lots of new areas, not a continent but new places within azeroth to explore

What I meant, Aphel, is that they are removing the UI that allows you to choose the perks. They are still giving you Mass Rez and extra gold for the guild bank (thus, "talents"), among other stuff. They said it recently on video, by the way, and it can change again.

And it is not rage, it is just that I am tired of reading the same kind of articles based on the client rather than in the game itself that, I remind you, isn't even in Beta. The funny thing is that it happens even with releases. Those who remember the WotLK trailer know that a new dance system was an expectation, and they keep saying that, because there are files in the client, the system will be implemented. Blizz has said that they done have a ETA for that release. People said, based on client files like trees or certain decorations, that the expansion after WotLK would be on the Emerald Dream for weeks, but then we know that it is the Cataclysm. Who of us who don't work at Blizz or play the Alpha (and I bet even they don't) knows if Deathwing is coming out of the Maelstrom if that is not even implemented! We haven't even seen the pre-Cata event yet! It is absolutely useless to make conclusions from something that is not even complete.

And, in another topic, it is obvious that a lot of stuff will change and a lot of stuff that was told will not happen. It happens to every game. If you don't like it, you simply stop playing (and paying) and play something else.

Aphel if i where you i'd just out right remove this this is a fake image i've been over every official and leak forum and i don't see this picture any where, and that death wing image is just terrible.

EDIT: wow... thanks for posting that up the top, apologies for my incorrect call there =P i still stand by the odd-ness(is that a word) of that image, but yeah looks like you where right bout the maelstrom at least =p.

Makes sense that he'd be there i had the original idea that he'd be in batol >.> don't know where i got it now =p but to come from a different location isn't hard for one who can shape the earth around themselves, and as i stated before, no telling what power he could come up with from the maelstrom. Although i highly doubt we will get nazjatar yet, it's more than likley the pinnacle of the next expansion.
