As for the model, what do ya mean with remaking it? The size and stuff is good enough isn't it? Too big isn't good you know, when it's too big the model itself goes through the ground. Unless you manage to scale it up nicely with how the character is holding the weapon.

Simple, flying means you stay for a looooong time on the same height in the air. If you jump high, you don't contain your height on the same length because you are falling down
