[How to]: lower your chances of being banned when you scam

In the scamming section, I have seen so many people constantly ask "How can I not get banned for doing this?"

Here is how to drastically lower your chances of getting banned when you scam...

I was talking to my friend about this at school, cause I thinking of scamming gold again when I get more time on my account. He told me, that after you make a character and scam the gold/items, this is what you do:

Delete the character (duh!) and then what you want to do is to make another character with the exact same name!

    The reason for doing this:

What this does is it tricks Blizz by making it seem as if that character has never traded or sent mail.

    Example:

Let's say you created a toon named Iliketurtles (not that you would ever have a name like that when you scam), and then you scam some chump out of 300g. After you send or trade the gold to your account, you log off and then immediately create another character with the name Iliketurtles. The victim tells a GM "Some dood named Iliketurtles scammed muh goldz," they then check the logs and see that the character Iliketurtles, level 1 <insert race/class here>, has not sent mail and/or traded with anyone.

Gratz, you now have a much slighter chance of being banned. I highly doubt a GM or any Blizz employee will go through the trouble of trying to find the original character that you used to scam the money.

Oh yeah, if you're going to flame, I don't want your 2 cents, keep it to yourself :banghead:

Re: [How to]: lower your chances of being banned when you scam

    This isn't really flaming but:

Blizzard is a HUGE company who's been making games for a long time. Do you really think that something that simple is going to 'fool' them? The logs are probably like this.

    [timehere] Logged in (imascammer)
[timehere] Sent message (/1 WTS Turtle mount code)
[timehere] Sent mail (COD, 150g, to: Victem)
    [timehere] Character Delete (imascammer)
    [timehere] Character Create (imascammer)

Just a theory, but I doubt Blizzard is THAT stupid. If their logs were like this they could easily just check. It probably isn't that hard.

If that's not true, thanks for posting this. As I hate when that question gets asked.
    " This isn't a game... There's no points, winners or losers "
    " Oh there's losers. "

Ok, I am not flaming (personally I hate flamers) but:
    1. this has been posted in an a scam idea, but I don't blame you for not finding it.
    2. This would help some, but as iPapa said, Blizzard's logs do show character deletion/creation.
    3. If you want to do this, create/delete the character like 20 times, that would make them suspicious, but it would make them angry.6):
Flamers beware, I use your flames to roast marshmallows! 6):

I see what you mean, but chances are they don't search these adequately, and when they see a character has just been created (named after the toon you scammed on), they'll think "this guy just created a character, he didn't scam anyone..." /endsearch (I heard GMs don't get paid that well, and like most people who don't get good pay, they just don't care too much). Just what I think...

My friend does go to this site (the one I mentioned in my post), so I'm guessing he might have read whatever scam it was that had this posted in it. I probably should have searched more extensively.

I deleted the character and remade it, it changed nothing, 3 day ban.

Blizzard is keeping logs for ANYTHING ingame..and i mean anything! The good news is that the logs only have a 14day duration.

umm. this could theoretically work but try to make the name of scam acc similar to something from tv and new toon on a second acc.
