[Gold Guide] Make gold with minimum efford

Hey guys! Time for me to contribute with this small guide in which you will learn how to slowly and steadily make high amounts of gold using enchanting. [You do NOT have to be an enchanter, you only need to know one]

Here we go:

It's pretty simple.
I did this as well preTBC but ofc the gold value was lower back then yet I made about 50.000 over a couple of months.
Anyway here's the simple tip I'd like to share.

At this moment the value for 1 Greater Cosmic Essence(GCE) is 35 gold in avarage (on my server!, I'll use my server as the example for this guide), sometimes less, sometimes more.
Then what? Well now we just need to figure out what disenchants (DE) into GCE.
By doing some tests and having some basic info about DE mechanics we know that Armor has up to 25% chance to drop essences while weapons are at 95%.

So basically all you have to do is set the Auction House filter to Uncommon and at a minimum level of 73 (70-72 gives Lesser Cosmic Essence) and sort by buyout (ascending).
Don't forget to select Weapons only!
Buy any green item worth less than 30g BO and go DE it.

Now it's not always the case where we got any items at AH at all, so now what?
Well we can always craft some!

Doing a simple search at Wowhead with Wotlk and Craftable as filters we end up with this:

[Notched Cobalt War Axe] is the only item that is L73 so we use that as an example.
It takes 10x [Cobalt Bar] to craft the axe by any blacksmith and 1x bar is made of 1x [Cobalt Ore].
Looking at AH we'll see that 1x [Cobalt Ore] is 2g in avg.


Now you do the math.
Have fun making gold.

I use this method at lvl 80 and I make very good money from it.. Imo its useful for all lvls =)

i use Auctioneer addon, and i just scan the AH, takes about 10 minutes, i go eat or smoke or something. come back, and find the disenchant tab blah blah, and set the ]-Minimum Profit-[ to 5g, and ]-Max Enchanting Skill-[ to 450 because thats what im at.

about 100 things to bid/. buyout on, most of them are 10g+ profit.

when i transfered i forgot to get all my gold off my bank, i had over 6k on it.. so i transfered with 200g, enough to repair after 4 nights of raiding if i dont buy anything.
but any ways, turned that 200 into 5000 in a week.

Another tip I could add to this is that green items with higher ilevel will likely drop more enchanting mats per disenchant.

In other words, if you disenchant a 73 green weapon, you may end up only with 1 essence. With a 78~80 green, there is a higher possibility of getting more than 1 essence per disenchant.

Also, there is the possibility of getting a essence from a armor piece, and dust from a weapon as well (if you are unlucky that is).

imma tell u what im doing atm, i dunno if ne1 posted about it but still it's nice to know. I know that u are looking for some essence but i've found out that Reinforced Cobalt Chestpiece, (sorry im not good at hotlinking), is the best for d/e's. The plan is world drop BUT it's worth the farming since when you de it gives from 2 to 5 dust and sometimes 1 to 2 essences, hope it helps alot for u chinese gold makers.

lawl, i forgot the biggest point, this chest only cost 4 bars, i think it's the lower cost and the resulting item is 76-77ish i dunno. :P sorry for mistake

This seem like a very used money making way on my server cause the greater cosmic goes for 27g, the cheapest green is 30g, and saronite bars goes for 80g stack, lol
