Fake Item Scam

Step 1:

Create a trial account with two characters. One named "Congratulations" or "greetings" or some type of greeting, and for my version, another with the name TCGPrizes or something along the lines of that. Now



*You know the normal drill from the original TCG Card scam, do not flame that this has already been posted.*



In addition, create an email account (preferably at mail.com - the best personalized free web-based e-mail) with a legit sounding name.



Step 2:

Now that we have that down, lets move on to the most important step in the process, the opening scam.

Type /e you have been selected for a free limited edition WoW TCG Card Mount/Tabard of your choice. To receive this prize, wait 15 seconds and whisper "TCGPrizes"

this is because you have to LINK THEM THE FAKE ITEMS!







Okay so when you click the message once or twice log off imedietly and go on "TCGPrizes" and wait for whispers.



Make a macro saying "Would you like the receive Item, Item, Item, Item or Item?" or something, make your own message.



Edit the following code names, for example, change [Tabard of Fire] to [Red GM Tabard]

Spectral Tiger:

The spectral tiger ones dont really make much of a scam.

Spectral Tiger:

Riding Turtle:

Maybe make it [Flying Turtle] since the item information will say "Right Click to summon a ridable turtle mount." some people wont think that it would have "only usable in outlands" if it was a flying mount, after all, this is an item they've never seen before.



Tabard of Flame:

Changed to [Red GM Tabard]





Tabard of Frost:

Changed to [Blue GM Tabard]





With the tabards, it makes an excellent scam.



This is what it looks like to the victim:

Congratulations you have been selected to receive a FREE Rare Limited Edition TCG Card Mount! To receive this mount/tabard, please wait 15 seconds for your account to be validated for the item then whisper "TCGPrizes" to redeem your item.

Victim waits.

To TCGPrizes: hi can I have my item?

TCGPrizes whispers: Which one would you like? [Blue GM Tabard] [Red GM Tabard] [Flying Turtle]

To TCGPrizes: the blue GM tabard

TCGPrizes whispers: Congradulations, your account has been activated to receive 1x[Blue GM Tabard].

TCGPrizes whispers: Please send a follow up email requesting the mount with the code 7T54G to [email protected]. Wait 5-10 minutes and you will receive an email with ingame instructions.

To TCGPrizes: okay

TCGPrizes whispers: Thank you and have a nice day!

People will have no idea how someone could possibly edit the item names, nobody knows about these scripts. This creates a thick cloak of Legitimacy.



Time for the wrap up:

When the email you, send them back another email telling them they need to send you their account username/password or something. Check the TCG Card Scam for more info on that.



You've just stolen an account.

I've stolen 2 level 70s, 4 level 30-50s, and a few 10-30s with this scam.



CAUTION: Do not overuse this on your server. People will catch onto them receiving 10 free mounts every day and might warn people on general that its a scam and such whenever you press the macro.

Ok so i’ll break it down for you so you understand what you can do and how to do it.

The FF8000 is the item color code, here is a list of the color codes for all the items.
# Poor = 9d9d9d
# Common = ffffff
# Uncommon = 1eff00
# Rare = 0070dd
# Epic = a335ee
# Legendary = ff8000
# Artifact = e6cc80
When changing it make sure you don’t change the 124cff

Next is the item ID, I know most of you probably know how to find an items ID from model editing but for those of you that don’t i’ll show you.
Ok first off go find the item on wow.allakhazam.com then what you’ll have to do is click on XML just below the item info. From there i’m sure you can just either CTRL+F and search ID or look for it. After you find it plug it in to the above script.

The next thing you have to change is the items name, it has to be changed right or the item wont link.

Ok now that you can link items with a script heres the neat things you can do.

Those 0’s are the special things about the item link.
The first Zero will show up as an enchant, the rest will show up as white stats on the item link.
So now on to where you can find the numbers to plug into the Zero spots.
I dont feel like copying all enchants and stats in the game into this thread so you’ll have to find them yourself.

How you can find them is opening your copy of warcraft studio or what ever else you use to extract DBC files from WoW and going to WorldofWarcraft\Data\enUS\DBFilesClient\SpellItemE nchantment.dbc
Or you can also go to EnchantId - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

Ok from there you can search the stats you want by going through the desc column and when you find the stats you want you plug the ID number in place of the Zero of your choice.
So anyways hopefully you can understand that and find a use for it, you could use it for scamming or maybe just show it off to your friends. If I left something out or don’t understand something make a post and i’ll help you out.

It can only work on BOE'S blues ranging frm level 25-65, so yah it cost money to make money wit this scam.

I've been using for over 5months making a shit ton, but I prob lost 30% of it buying items to scam again./

Try this:
Make sure you have the whisper shell open.
You need to click on their name or type "/w Name" and press the macro when you would normally type a whisper. Try again if this is what you were doing wrong.
