Me and my friend have tested this scam and it works quite often. The beauty of this scam is that you can choose how far you want to go. Meaning you can just scam some gold or go get someones account info.
Starting off. Go onto your scamming account and say something like this in /2 Looking to purchase a character transfer, name change or character re-customization in exchange for wow gold.
Once you have found someone interested, settle for an amount of gold. Chances are he will ask you how this will go down. Explain to him that you are willing to pay for the transfer first (name change or whatever it is) and then he can pay you the gold.
If he is still interested, ask to talk him on msn to make this transaction easier. If he agrees on the transaction, explain to him that you will need his account name and password to be able to access the account management page. If he is hesitant to give you his info, tell him he can change the password immediately after you have logged in the page.
Since you are on msn, you should have his email so send him a fake blizzard email. I use evilpage.com but it really doesn't matter as long as you use the common letter form. ( you can find a bunch of well written ones on mmowned )
Once it has been sent, let him know to check his email as the character is pending. At this point tell him to meet back on WoW so he can give you the gold.
Now this next part is up to you but its worth the try if hes an TOTAL idiot. Tell him that the character transfer (or whatever your pretending to offer him) is enabled to but you still need more info to continue which happens to be his last name and SQ. Might as well try this because you have nothing to lose.
