also, sometimes blizzard track people whos bought gold, but its mostly if the amout is somewhat big, in tbc lots of mails with thousands of gold get send every day, so those probably arent tracked, so dont try with too big amounts :P also the bigger the amount you buy from a company the more security they have on the gold and making sure they dont get scammed my -1-0- cents

but I think you will get banned if you buy alot of gold all the time, atleast if you buy like 10k and so on.
