Why I'll never waste gold on a duped Jeweled Panther or anything..

It's ancient history.. doesn't make it any less relevant or applicable imho..

    Season 2[edit]

Blizzard performed its first ladder reset on July 7, 2004 with a promotional contest called "When Worlds Collide," as World of Warcraft was scheduled to be released the following year. The contest began for all users playing on an Expansion Realm. The first player to reach level 99 on the ladder on each Realm would be awarded a prize package containing a Blizzard T-Shirt, a signed copy of World of Warcraft Collector's Edition, a toy statue, and a Blizzard North CD Wallet.[16]
The "Rust Storm" program, a process by which duplicate items were deleted, was also implemented.

Not just duplicate items either.. I believe the popular bugged gear at the time was Ith..

I don't think you'll lose the duped item if that's what you're afraid of. I have a duped horse from ICC legendary quest. I MAY have a duped spectral tiger also which was sold for cheap at 300k only, at the time duped mounts were starting to go crazy on most realms.

Just a FYI, of course you're 100% safe buying a legit mount or item though.

FYI, I simply bought 17x duped Panters last year, when they were cheap enough as 16k each in bulk price, and guess what?

Learned one, and sold the remaining in less than two weeks - 1 or 2 daily, for the steady profit of 500k gold total. And no, noone asked for refund lately, neither mine have been removed. It is similar to most of the "duped" TGC lootstuff etc.

And another point - sometimes the "duped" stuff is not the item itself, but gold, laundred by obtaining expensive stuff like that. Especially the cheap TGC pets, sold recently on the most of the full servers!

So, indeed that Blizzard posting is NOT
