ATTENTION:
I have been using the HUD for over one week now and was super happy with its functionality but today after starting it 10 minutes ago it had a severe effect on my computer opening a shitload of different windows. As far as i can tell it tried to format c, activate bitlocker, seemed to try to grab my admin password and a huge amount of other VERY dangerous stuff... I could'nt make a fucking screenshot because the computer was so stressed that i had to restart it. Can admins PLEASE look into this something is really going of the rail here! All this happened after starting this HUD in admin mode.
Every single window opened seemed to be directly connected to compromising the computer and not just random opened windows as in the possibility that just something went terribly wrong and this was just a bug.
I feel like i have to try to reproduce this and make a screenshot the fact that i only have 1 post and just created this account makes this really hard to believe -.-
Additional information: I've used the external maphack for the first time today too which makes it one of the possible candidates for this too BUT it happened after starting PoE followed up by PoEHUD and maphack was not touched yet at that occasion.

Bug, or you tried to run the batch file manually?

I have started it with a shortcut of the .bat located on my desktop (x64 version).
I'd love it to be a bug but it opened like 15 windows that access crucial parts of everyones computer...

Did you use the batch file from out of the folder by any chance?
If you did, it starts every exe from its current location, someone has said what you said before and this was the case.
However if that isnt the case i would suggest compiling the program yourself.

Make a SHORTCUT of the batch file and place it on your desktop

You should not start it with the batch file..

If you run the batch file as admin it'll run every exe in system32 folder iirc

Yes, this. Don't run the batch file as an admin. Maybe I should put some advanced logic in the batch file to protect against stupidity.

tbh, it should be a small exe rather than batch file.

Okay i guess this is a false positive then even though i don't appreciate being called stupid for this mistake.
Just tried to protect people from losing anything.
Thanks everyone for the quick responses.

There's a difference between calling someone stupid and saying something they did is stupid. But if you don't see that, you may be stupid.

Wouldn't it be easy to add conditional IF statement to check if the batch file is run in /system32?
Something like
Code:
IF NOT exist calc.exe goto run_script
echo "Don't run with Admin priviledges"
exit
:run_script
for %%i in (*.exe) do start "*.exe" /b "%%i"
just taking any random exe from /system32 folder for checking
