Hmm, cant seem to figure it out,
I have done exactly as you said in this post, there must be something else..
So we have to extract the rxp leveling. rar map that is being downloaded from that link, into the groupfolder AddOn? But that means its a whole different map than what the restedxp map is..
And yes extracting this tru 7zip, select addon folder.. voila?
And yes I have deleted the WTF folders as you said, I have by now tried all steps, in order and in different order, I really think there is something else,
I might try to reinstall wow all together, clean and then do these steps, but i bet i get the same result

So far the last 6 people said they did "Exactly" what I said did not

All those 6 people were told, extract to the addon folder.
They then proceeded to extract to the RXP folder.
Then come back with I did exactly what you said.
Then they spend 2 days saying it does not work.

Then they come back with I did exactly what you said, I put it int he RXP folder. I never ever said that, I said put it in the addons folder.

If people cannot follow

install addon
Download leveling guide
Extract to addons folder.

If they cannot do that, then maybe they should not use the file at all.
The guide guides complicated directions and people cannot follow 3 steps.

Why are people not doing that and then complaining it does not work

RXP Custom Quest Guides goes to addons folder
Ksuper's Custom RXP Routes goes to addons folder
Sue's Hardcore Guide goes to addons folder
RXP Achievement Guides goes to addons folder
Gathermate 2 data goes to addons folder

No one ever in 20 years have said, they go in the addon itself

RXP leveling goes to addons folder. So why are people putting it in the RXP folder when I never said to put it in the RXP folder, ever!

I say put it in the addons folder.

They spend days complaining it does not work.

Is exactly the same thing.

Well if people do not want to follow 3 steps, I suggest you not to use it and have a good day.

If you cannot follow 3 steps, are are you going to follow 1000+ steps in game?

Hey it still doesn't seem to be working for me, previously when we had to replace files in the RXP folder this was working just fine.
I'm not sure if I'm missing anything this time around.

Here's what I've done:

- Uninstalled RestedXP
- Deleted all trace files of RXP from the entire WoW directory (including Saved Variables)
- Reinstalled RestedXP v4.6.63-classic using CurseForge
- Downloaded the new RXP Leveling Guides
- Used 7-zip to extract these folders into the 'AddOns' folder (not into the RXPGuides folder itself)

After going through this thread it seems I haven't missed anything but when I boot game the addon is still showing free version.

I just found the fix to it.

When extracting 'RXP Leveling Era' into the 'AddOns' folder there is a check box under the filepath destination the must be unticked on 7-zip.

This meaning, the 'RXP Leveling' folder within 'RXP Leveling Era' is the one that needs to be placed into 'AddOns' folder for it to work NOT the 'RXP Leveling Era' folder containing that.


Edit: This could also be applicable to any of the other guides available so try this if you're having a similar problem.

That makes no sense at all.

RXP Leveling was to go to the addons folder.

I repeated it like a broken record.
But people claimed they did that, then put it in the RXP folder and claimed they did exactly what I said. Then prove they did not.

I uploaded the RXP Leveling Era yesterday.

Same thing, that is a new file replacing RXP Leveling and replacing.
RXP Leveling Classic goes in classic addons folder.
RXP Leveling Retail goes in classic addons folder.

If people cannot extract a folder to the addons folder and then spend hours to days complaining it does not work. All because you could not follow 2 steps.

Maybe you should not use the addon. Seeing the addon has over 1000 steps and you cannot follow 2.

Oh, I do not use 7zip. I just suggest it as an alternative and now I fully agree with your point, thank you.

I was thinking people extract the folder to the desktop and then move it to the addons directory.
That way, they would have 1 folder.

Well depends how you are extracting it.

Seeing people are extracting RXP leveling, to RXP leveling folder. Do it is addons/RXP leveling/RXP leveling.

Then come back with they did exactly what I said. When I said, extract it to the addons folder addons/RXP leveling.
So people did not do exactly what I said.

Well Era is for Anniversary servers classic isnt lmao maybe put that. Thats prob why 80% of people cant get it working man.

Also Enable Item Upgrade is Greyed out, why? Cant see the upgrade percentages anymore. Main reason I need addon.

You want to laugh? You cannot install the addon right.

80%? Well seems all those people are not smarter than a 6 year old. Seeing a 6 year old can.

Anniversary servers classic is Vanilla
Era is vanilla
Hc is vanilla

So people cannot get something to work, when it is the exact same thing as era. Well what does that say about them.

Can install The addon, cannot install the guides because they manually install it the same way.
So let me get this right.
Manually installs addon.
Should Manually install the guide the exact same way. Chooses not to, then complains for hours to days it does not work.
Did you do as I said? No
