Someone on another forum did what I said and this happened

Yes. I completely deleted both and reinstalled rxp using curseforge then replaced the Guides folder with yours.

You know what, seeing I am the problem, how about I delete the thread.
You talk about hostilely , take a good look at yourself!

Oh does not contain the correct groups? Then it is a 100% copy what I have and works for me and others.
But other people that have the exact file it does not work.

Ok, I will take a look at myself. Registering on the forum specifically to try and provide helpful insight. I guess I am oozing with hostility, as you suggest.

As for your sarcastic remarks about the groups, I assume you have a working understanding of lua and how data structures are loaded. The RestedXP addon allows custom guides to be loaded. The meta data for those guides are stored in the lua files. The lua files in the download only contained the preparation guides as I showed in the screenshot.

It's not about anyone refusing to do what you said. People are trying to help and you are trying to clap back sarcastically and angrily. It is sad to see to be honest.

I'm sorry BlueRainsky. This is what I have done so far, if I did something wrong please let me know. I 1. Downloaded guides.rar, 2. Installed RXP through curse. 3. Deleted Guides folder from RXP 4. Extracted your guides into the RXP folder. This worked yesterday, today I updated without backing up the guides folder so it got fucked. so I tried to follow your setps. I deleted all saved variables, for my account and my characters. deleted WTF and AddOns folder and reinstalled like I did in step 1-4. and It's still not working. Did I miss something?

Well I do agree with you

The odd thing is.

For some, deleting the WTF folder and addons folder and a clean install works
For others it does not.

When it is the same file.

Also people say about the file from monday, aka the guides folder to readd it.
When the file is the same file.

So how can it work then and not now.
But people extract the guides and add it, good.
But then they delete the guides folder. update the addon. Then download the same guides folder and readd and then does not work.

When they could just have backed up the folder > update > copy folder in. But people for some reason do not copy the folder over after backing it up.
They download the file > extract > copy > update, then repeat.
Instead of download > extract and backup the guides folder > update > add guides > update > add guides update > add guides update > add guides update > add guides

Guys stop arguing I found the solution. This solution only works if you manually install the RestedXP Guides addon via zip- DO NOT INSTALL IT VIA CURSEFORGE THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME.

After you have manually installed both, restart game and it will work.

I update via curseforge app, and I copy the guides folder in and for me that works.

Well I ask you this. How would you feel with people complaining every day for the past 7 days for 8 hours a day.
Demanding the file is wrong.
Complaining about the file
Harassing
Abusive
Insulting
Refusing to take simple advice

You have nothing to say because you would like being treated like it. But have no issue calling someone hostile for not tolerating it. Oh nobody has been rude? I would feel like I'm doing exactly what I signed up for. No calling someone hostile is not a compliment nor is it an insult. Calling someone hostile is an observation and usually a concern. I'm not going to entertain your rage, but again, I truly hope you can find some time away from the computer in an activity that will bring you happiness.

Well when you hear the same thing over and over because people do not want to do what is said. Would you like it? Silly question, you would not answer that.

Yea I was happy before you existed but you know mistakes do happen.

Not my fault you cannot install an addon and follow all instructions. But call me hostile for repeating the same thing over and over.
But then someone comes along, does exactly what I said and it worked.

Lets face it, you only want what you can get no matter how you get it.

Hey there gamers,

I've tried with a completely clean wow folder, meaning deleted addons folder, deleted wtf folder, and the latest 20 releases/alphas of restedxp (in case something was up with the latest v4.6.36. Unfortunately no luck.

I just wanna make sure that there's not something I've missed:

1. Have a completely empty WTF Folder.
2. Have a completely empty Addons folder.
3. Run latest version of 7-zip (v24.0.
4. With 7-zip, extract the base addon to the Addons folder. (downloaded from CurseForge) - for this example, I'll go with "RXPGuides-v4.6.36.zip". Now we navigate to "Addons\RXPGuides" where we'll delete a folder called "Guides".
5. With 7-zip, extract the Guides that we downloaded from this link: Download.ru - cloud storage into the "Addons\RXPGuides" folder.

What could I be doing wrong? I must be doing something wrong, right?

I am very satisfied with the service you provided.

However, I would like to ask a question regarding the current issue.

Currently, it works fine when playing Alliance characters using the guides folder you shared.

However, it does not work only when playing a Horde character.

Before the previous patch, both Alliance and Horde characters worked.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
