    HI, awesome work glichty, but I have a big problem for edit characters…when I convert in obj the FemaleTroll model and I inject the same obj (without any edit) in a m2 file my game crash, but it works fine with creature, any solution ?

    Hm, is Well made, but here - an editing to models in 3ds Max not comfortable. There is remarkable програма mdlvis she exports the models in mdx. And has much not bad editor top and motion, but inverse export in M2 no. Can possible do the converter from mdx in obj but further with preserved by changed motion and model possible to import in m2 by means of ModelInjector? This possible?

    I did the following:

    1) Edit your model in 3ds Max 2009
    2) Export your model as .3ds (Max2009 can do that without messing up the model)
    3) Start Milkshape (Get it here)
    3) Import your previously saved .3ds file.
    4) Then File->Export->Wavefront Obj

    You can now put the Obj file into Glitchys MES - it won't complain about anything. Have fun

    Some problems here. Using max2009, language thing set to EN(US). Just started with max so iam a nub, maybe just missing some basic function in it.

    - Extracted .m2 from patch-2.mpq, used Glitchy's MES to convert it to .obj
    - Imported to max2009 unchecked everything (altho the import/export options are different than in the version thats in the help file, tried playing with the settings no success) and this is what i get ImageShack - Hosting :: importedxg4.jpg
    looks like theres all the possible modifications of the model pasted on top of each other and im unable to separate them, hide unwanted ones or anything. When i try to export it without applying any changes to it, in MES i get the 'wrong number of verts' when trying to convert it to .m2.

    could anyone please tell in detail how to extract an m2 of a model, and which program to use? take human male for example how can i export that m2 file then convert it to .OBJ without doing it wrong? ive been trying this for 2 days now. when i import or try to open the .OBJ files in 3ds max,
    nothing happens at all, its really frustrating ><

    MES m2 to obj converter doesnt work right now i guess as the m2 system changed, its divided into multiple files now so i guess some update to MES would be needed.

    But anyways if anyone knows a way how to edit models (custom, not swapping) or animation swapping in 3.0.x would be great if they shared the knowledge :P

    As the MES just exports the vertices, you wont need any changes but an fix of stupid 8 bytes.
