Well In this guide i will show you how to make your own working helmfixes! these as of right now will work for patch 3.0.9+. LETS GET STARTED!
Programs Needed:
MyWarcraftStudio (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...-programs.html)
Batch Renamer (Download Batch Renamer 2.1.1.0 - A powerful cross platform tool that allows you to rename several files at once. - Softpedia)
WowMe to use the patch
Step 1: With Warcraft Studio Open Common-2.MPQ in your data folder in the wow directory.
Step 2: Double Click on the ITEM directory Then OBJECTCOMPONENTS then highligh the HEAD right click and select Extract Folder. Save folder somewhere you can find it.
Step 3: Now when you extract the folder it should have saved as HEAD even though you named it whatever you wanted. Now go to the HEAD folder (i saved mine on the desktop). Inside You Will see a lot of files (every helm image for every class/race), in the folder (i use vista) i use the search feature on the very top right hand corner.. i type in the class im changing to in this case lets go with Orc Female which would translate to "OrF" and it would basically only show you the files with the "OrF" in it the name.
Step 4: Copy all of the files (Ctrl - c with windows) and make a folder on your desktop called ITEM inside you make a folder called OBJECTCOMPONENTS inside of that you make one called HEAD ... inside of the HEAD folder you paste all of the files you just copied (ctrl+v with windows).

Step 5: Open Batch Renamer(or w.e. program you have that would rename a lot of files at once) Find your ITEM folder you created if its on desktop going by what my vista saves everything as you go into C: then USERS then <username> then Desktop then ITEM. Once you find the item folder continue going into the sub folder till you enter HEAD folder. the two boxes up top of the program Box on the left you put the word you want change in this case "OrF" the next box you put what you want it changed to in my case im a draenei female so i change it to "DrF" (use the legend up at the top of the this guide to see what your race/gender is spelled as). Then Press "GO!"
Step 6: Open Warcraft Studio and Select "Create MPQ Archive" and save the patch as "patch-(3-9 a-z).MPQ" in this case i always save my helmfixes as "patch-c.MPQ"

Step 7(a): Now before we continue go to your item folder go all the way inside of the HEAD directory and copy any file (just 1 will do) and paste just outside of OBJECTCOMPONENTS folder like first image shows.
Step 7(b):Now right click the empty area to left area inside of warcraftstudio and select "Import Folder" and go into the ITEM folder and select that file you just copied into it, and click OK and it will Import your ITEM directoryjust as how you have it on your desktop with all files and folders.

Step 8: Now just go to the Pack drop down menu and select "Save and Close" and you're now officially done! Just copy the patch you created into your data directory and you should see your helm fix in action.
