Welcome!
I DO NOT WANT THIS TO BE USED TO EXPLOIT IN ANY WAY
Welcome to a guide on how to do very basic model editing.
Now, I like transportable model edits, so how about we start off by doing a small model swap, eh? :> (Keep in mind, I do not do this to cheat on retail, but purely to show you how to model edit)
Start off by finding any object you want to swap with a current object. Im gonna choose the WoodenStairs

Now, once you've found your model, lets continue to actually add the required folders and such in our new patch :P

Make those folders (In this case). Now, rename your desired model into (In this case) ElwynnCampfire.M2 and ElwynnCampfire00.skin. Also, rename any other files that came along with your desired model, and rename those to ElwynnCampfire, and leave the rest, plus the extension.
Now, we got the files renamed:

Great, now lets add them :P

Great. And that's basically it! Just add it to your ***\World of Warcraft\Data\ folder, and open up wow... Now lets see if it works, shall we? :>

Woop woop! Works! =D
This can be done with any sort of model swapping.
Remember, this is NOT a tutorial on how to exploit with model editing. Model editing is meant to be a tool for art, and are supposed to stay that way, so please just leave this, if your just gonna use it to exploit. Thank you.
Now, this is the simple way to do model editing. Another way of editing models and treepaths and such, is to edit it in the DBC files. Which is something we wont be getting into in this tutorial.
Thanks for watching though! :>
Thanks
