Take Ravenheart's advice and go to the link he's posted. Dll the DX9 distributable.

I had the same problem figuring this out. Depending on how good your computer is, you may need to hold the mouse button longer for the textures to draw on the landscape (you texture using the right-mouse button).

For those with the black/gray screen i now maybe have a solution. Some people in our forum had the same problem, they downloaded a lot of redistributables and nothing helped. Now someone found a link which helped all those people, maybe it also works for you:

Works for me again, but custom maps are highly unstable.

Creating a Controlpanel that can be accessed from outside the program. You can specify the settings there before and during runtime. Here is a first screenshot:

I got BSOD 3 times now while trying to edit the ground on azshara crater.

!1 problem that arose anyhow is that when changing zone such as that into azeroth, you won't see the same blueish ground that appears outside the landmass.

So in a whole it's not possible to lower the ground on this map so it'll be accessible since it won't blend in with the ground that appears in instances.

Hope you can make some sense out of this ^^
