    Re: [guide] Editing enviroments.

I've got some serious problems with this, I'm trying to change Durotar ground to Tanaris ground... I'll try describing it the best i can. I open MWCS, use it to open common.mpq. Open "TILESET", open "TANARIS", pick "TanarisCrackedGround.blp" and click "Extract file to...", and extract it to my desktop. I then open "Durotar", pick "DurotarDirt.blp", right click and choose "Copy Treepath". Pick "Create MPQ Archive" from the "Pack" dropdown. Click "OK" when I get a window saying "Are you sure to close current archive?". Create the archive named "patch-3.MPQ" in my WoW/Data folder. Click "Add file to archive, choose the "TanarisCrackedGround.blp" from my desktop. Press OK. Right click it in the left menu and choose "Rename File". Press ctrl+V, now it's called "TILESET\Durotar\DurotarDirt.blp" and appears with a folder icon in the left menu (when I press OK). Click "Pack", choose "Save and close archive", close MWCS. Then I open WoW using my Modelchange.exe, go to Durotar and... there is absolutely no change. Do you have any idea what I did wrong?

    Re: [guide] Editing enviroments.

Hm, nevermind I made it work. Changed durotar tileset into emerald dream d: but now I got another problem; I cant change creatures or trees or rocks or characters or anything cause MWCS just gets an error when I click them. Is there a solution for this?

get a newer version of MWS might help if you have the newest removing the M2Craft.dll should stop it from crashing but it will also make you unable to see that models

    Re: [guide] Editing enviroments.

You can only do that on Original Servers, can´t you? I tried it and it just doesn´t work on my Mangos Server... I did everything correct, Ive the right modeledit-fix but I still can´t see the new textures^^

You just bumped a 2 month old post... nevertheless, no this also works on private serveers.

    Re: [guide] Editing enviroments.

I'm getting many of the same problems here, none of my stuff is showing up >.> anyway, any kind of help would be nice. Thanks.

    ~Me

Edit- Woot, I got it working. All I had to do was edit all of the files- example, I was editing elwynn and wanted to turn the paths into lava, so the first thing I tried was just editing the cobblestonebase file, that didnt work- so I then took all the cobble stone files and edited them with different lava effects and such, logged in with Modeledit.exe, and presto- lava paths! Not sure if that helps anyone, just throwing it out there as my personal fix.
