[Question] Texture editing problems

Heya!

Yesterday I tried to do some texture editing! Even though I've been messing around with models for a long time this was my first real attempt at texture editing. Anyway I decided to change the textures for my Aldori Legacy Defender, I converted the textures to .PNG and back to .BLP again and smacked it into a patch file. Everything fine this far! However when I logged on in game I can only see the new textures when I zoom in real close, when I am zoomed out normal I turns black for some reason . Anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

I'm not sure if this applies to world textures coz I've never tried it. Though, when customising your UI, any texture files you make (.tga) need Alpha layers set to determin which areas of your image are transparent and which arent. Since you directly edited a texture, its alpha layer might be slightly cock-eyed, making the texture display in all sorts of strange ways (or not at all). I'm not an expert at this at all, so don't take my word for it. But I'd consider looking into it.
