how is it possible to edit say...a Really lame guild tabard ><
into a tabard of ones choosing?

where would i find the files? is it the same copy/rename style as model editing?

Find the BLP of the tabard you want then just replace the names like normal.

The tabard textures are all in textures\GuildEmblems
You'd switch them the normal way, they have files for Background, Border, and Emblem. For each color of each background, border, and emblem, there are two files. One for torso upper and one for torso lower, but they aren't in different folders. There are so many emblems though it would take you forever to find the exact one you have. You would switch them the same way you switch any file.
