So I want to retexture the Horses, the lvl 40 ones, not the swift ones. I edited them in Photoshop, saved as TGA, converted the TGA to BLP.
I open MyWarcraftStudio, go to Pack>Edit MPQ Archive, open the CREATURE folder, open the RIDINGHORSE folder, delete SADDLE.blp, Add file to archive, load my new file as CREATURE\RIDINGHORSE\SADDLE.blp.
It shows up correctly, under the right folder (treepath). Okay, Save and Close Archive. I go to run Warcraft through the Cosmos loader (yeah it's not the best UI, but since yesterday, I can't install anything else) an dI get an error message saying that common.MPQ cannot be found.
I run warcraft normally (without opening the Cosmos icon, just clicking on the untainted WoW icon) and it loads, no error message. However, NONE of my edits show up. The horses are the same as they've always been. I open up Mywarcraftstudio again, look at the horse files again, and they've gone back to their old textures, my edits are completely gone.
One possibility is that the admin account on this computer is now password protected, I can't add patch files to the Data folder without having to input a password. I'm wondering if the files are not over-writing because they need acces to admin privelages.
I'm becoming incredibly frustrated with this, can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong? Or confirm that this is an administrative account problem? I don't have the admin password and have no way of getting it.
