How do you use Model Edit Fix?

I have searched to threads from October of 2006 and still can't find how to use Model Edit Fix. I stick it in my Data directory, my enUS directory, I try running it, try drag and dropping my .mpq 's on it and I keep getting the client crash error of:

    ERROR #131 (0x85100083) File Corrupt
    Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft TBC\WoW.exe
    File: DBFilesClient\AreaTable.dbc

Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong. This is my first time doing anything related to model editing. I apologize for my stupidity.

you either have an old model edit fix or you downloaded one that is private from this site either way i suggest using the wowemuhacker which has an allow model edits button i personally think its idiot proof

That's not how you use a model edit fix.
Paste the MPQ in your Data folder.
Paste the Model Edit Fix along with it's dlls in your WoW directory and double click the model edit fix, it'll launch WoW.
Before you type in your login details, hit F8, then login.

Yeah, I downloaded the one from this thread:
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ix-thread.html

So I don't have any dlls or anything but the file modeleditlive.exe Didn't think that flash of a command prompt was a good sign. Guess I need to find something else to work with. Thanks for the quick responses guys.

    That's the one for 2.2.3.
The 2.3 one isn't posted in the public sections, you can donate to MMOwned to get it, or try Google. It's not hard to find.

Re: How do you use Model Edit Fix?

It's for my private server which is 2.2.3 at the moment, I'm upgrading it to 2.3 on the 3rd or 4th of December. I don't do official anymore, heh. But thanks for the help, guess I'll either get some cash or look around for 2.3 MEF when I do upgrade to 2.3

to use model edits for 2.2.3 just put the mpq file in your wow data folder and run the fix from your regular wow folder ( put it in your folder and double clik) it should start wow and allow the models to work
