[Editing] Need help in editing the world

Hi im new to the private server usage and new to this website aswell. i need help in various things

How to use Noggit
how to use WoWmapeditor-maybe has another name..
how to use warcraftstudios- especially how to stuff music into my server
and finally when i download new modded islands were do i place them and how do i upload them into the server , do i have to extract the maps again?

if anyone can help me out ill +rep!! each time i c ur posts

srry im new as i mention... so i dont know if i can rep or not but consider it done when im able to and i know the link but the problem is the following

- i cant find the noggit link
and i still dont know how to put modded .mpq's in my server

Try looking in here, the guides section. Also, world editing is for the client (the thing you install off of the CDs from Blizzard), so if someone played on your server, without the files you edited, they wouldn't see anything different. And may I recommend my new(ish) program that has a lot of tools in a nice package, which is great for getting started.

Thanks mrtn400 i really thank you for the tool. In addition, what u mean i need the client ? u mean like i need the 1.12.X install in my pc without TBC or what ? i download this modded map looks really good from what i saw , i download it , it was a patch file u know those .mpq and i guess i had to put it in data folder. and i did my maps again.

Unless they fixed http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ap-editor.html so that it worked properly (i have a memory about someone saying it was acting up.) you need to have a 1.12 version of WoW installed on your computer to be able to work with Nogg-it. After that you put the edited mapfile in a custom .MPQ and put it in your datafolder. Very simple really (Even if I've never done it :P).

Either you download a 1.12 version of WoW, I'm pretty sure there is a thread about it on this forum somewhere. Search tool is ur friend.

Or you reinstall WoW with ur pre-tbc discs (if u have any) and they should not be patched above 1.12 (unless u try loggin in on live WoW with it.)

Do NOT and I repeat do NOT do what I did, I tried just deleting the patch-updates from my WoW-folder... 9 hours of repairing and updating (uninstall wouldnt work because of missing files) really sucks

so is there no working way to depatch from 2.3?

I just want to help a friend get his client to 2.2.3, not 1.12
