Model Editing Question

I use WoW 2.2.3 (Only play private servers when model editing) and was wondering if a model-edit-fix is not used and the original patch.mpq is modified is it detected when connecting to Priv Servers?

you will need to try this one out for your self. somthing i noticed though was when patch 2.3 came out all my Custom MPQ's got put into Patch.mpq, and i dont need a Fix to Run them.
