Old [Wotlk] 2h Arena Swords

After release Cataclysm, Hateful Gladiator's Greatsword, Deadly Gladiator's Greatsword and swords with the same model, lost the original [wotlk] model.

Some comment from Wowhead:

"I've spoken to the GMs about it and apparently they somehow lost the model for this sword when transitioning to Cata and had to replace it with a placeholder skin otherwise they would have had to remove the item from the game entirely.

Regretfully, the GM was not able to tell me if they are planning on returning the original skin and said that he will pass my request to the design team etc." 2011

The question is, is it possible to somehow revert to the old model to the game by replacing the model? I ask because in patch 7.0.3 Returned these swords again on sale. If possible, how?
