    Ironforge Textures/Buildings/Terrain

    Hey all,
    I'm on a project where I want to completely re-model/re-texture & re-terrain all of Ironforge, but i'm at a difficulty. I know how to change banners, signposts and some other obvious stuff like statues and Great Anvil. The problem is I can't seem to find the files to change the terrain, textures and models for the buildings, walls and the ground. This is mind boggling me. I've tried textures.mpq, model.mpq, patch.mpq. wmo.mpq and stuff but no IF building (except the ones outside) are showing up. Can anyone help me out here?

    Hmmm You checked Wmo? Cuz well Ironforge is made outta Wmo's would seem it has to be there *Wink Wink* Re check that. It may help some in reguards to the terrain.. Texture wise however i would suggest looking elsewhere.

    Wouldnt be for the <Noggaholic> MC quest now would it?

    Perhaps... Anyways, I have come across the Ironforge wmo's before but I have no idea what they are. Take a look:



    It's just a massive list of .wmo's :O.

    Aye, Old version of MWCS should help you out there. I believe it was .9 that allowed you to view complete rendered Wmo's.

    I'm using 0.9, i'll try 0.7 and 0.6 now.

    Yup, both 0.7 and 0.6 work, a little hard to see the actual models but its better than nothing .

    Also theres a new vers of MWS? Could u plz link a one later than 0.9?

    Hrm i'm having trouble editing these wmo's. Every time I edit one it completely deletes itself.

    *bump*... Can someone please help me with this? I have no clue how to edit .wmo's succesfully.

    Aye, Np for the help..
    New version of MWCS can be found on Linuge (Sp) Blog.. Its in Chinese though so gl there its not hard to find. the version is .88 and if you cant find the link ill host it myself when i have more time to post.

    Click both right and left on the mouse to zoom out and left click to view around the model. Should make looking at em a bit easier, since they start off in some weird spots on occasion. Sorry for the incorrect version #.

    As for actually editing the .wmo's its not something released yet, and im not a big fan of being the one to break the ice. When it gets release or you figure it out ill be able to help you further or a learn a bit more about how it works. Sorry= / Just one of my things.

    =) Experiment.. Im sure someone here will tell you straight up, but my honest opinion is to just practice and learn with experimentation.. Itll help you so much more in the long run, exspecially if your doing the Nogg quest, since once in the MC forums there wont be any explaination of anything, its just a place to talk.. until you do the next MC quest and get into the advanced forums and so on so forth..


    Nice find on the new MWCS I hadnt read his blog in a while.. Thanks for posting the link too.

    Ok, this is obviously for a nogg-aholics quest. The point is to do it on ur own...... anyway u dont really wanna edit .wmos because they are structures, and that quest wants textures changed

    Well actually they said models and textures? Thats where i'm in a pickle. Thats the only problem im having is editing the buildings. Anyways i'll edit textures, hand it in and see how it goes. Thanks guys.
