    [Question]: Simple Model Editing Question.

Hello, I'm new to mmwoned and model editing. I have followed Glybeard's (sp? sorry) guide and have downloaded the ME Fix and the Tauren > Draenai File. I have followed his instructions perfectly yet i don't know why my edit isn't showing on my character selection screen. (yes, i dl'd the newer version of ME Fix)

Yes, the DOS box is showing up.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,
    Civ

Re: [Question]: Simple Model Editing Question.

I'll try to help you by making a step-by-step tut how to set up your Tauren->Draenei model change.

    1) Download your modelchange patch from Glynbeard's topic. (Verzend.be - send files up to 1GB for free - Patch_enUS_6.MPQ) (Thanks to Glynbeard for the conversions.)

    2) Download the newest Model change fix. (http://www.uberdarknet.com/modeleditlive.exe) (Thanks to Chazwazza for the model edit fix.)

    3) Place your modelchange file (The one you downloaded in step 1) ) in your World of Warcraft Data folder. The path should look similar to this one:
    C:\Program Files(Or programs)\World of Warcraft\Data

    4) Place the Model change fix ( which you've downloaded in step 2) ) in your World of Warcraft folder. The path should look similar to this one:
    C:\Program Files(Or programs)\World of Warcraft

    5) Run the model change fix (I suggest renaming it, to atract less atention) from your World of Warcraft folder, or create a desktop shortcut and run it from there.

    6) Log in to your account.

    7) If everything is done like said above, your model change should work properly and your race should be changed.

I hope I helped you with this.

Nope, sorry, there is no way to contact me in-game at the moment.

But if you are using MSN, you can add me ( [email protected] ).

It might also be a problem with the model edit file. It has a enUS tag in it's name, if you're running enGB (any Europe version) this might be the problem.

Re: [Question]: Simple Model Editing Question.

I've sent you an E-Mail, R3mah. Anyways i don't think the problem im having is with the MPQ file, because i dl'd the tauren > undead one, too and nothing worked. Yes i deleted the old MPQ file of the tauren > draenai before i dl'd the undead one. I have enUS. Am i missing anything, i put the MPQ file into my data folder, just my folder, not into a sub-folder. Then i put my ME Fix (new) into my regular wow folder. The DOS box is just blank so i don't know if that could be the problem either. Anyone feel free to answer.

    Thanks,
    Civ

Re: [Question]: Simple Model Editing Question.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this method of model changing still works? or are the files i'm downloading out of date (the fix isn't, but are the actually MPQ changes working?)

    Thanks,
    Civ

Geetings Civ, I might be able to shead some light on the situation (great explanation R3hma btw)

Make sure you have no firewalls ect. on and make sure that the DOS box stays open when you activate it.

If it still doesn't work than its probably my actual edit gone bad.

Re: [Question]: Simple Model Editing Question.

I was looking at the instructions posted by R3mah, and I noticed that the download link to the file was labeled Patch_enUS_6.MPQ. Are you operating on a mac or windows PC?

Anyways, make sure that you've renamed the new .MPQ file that you downloaded to patch-#.MPQ. Replace the # sign with a number between 3 and 9, whichever you haven't used yet.

I'm a bit tired right now.. so if this doesn't work / help then i'll try to wake up a bit.

By # he just means his patches are named a number not the actual sign.
