    MoP Model Editing

Hi, while reading some tutorials here on forums, I noticed that all of these are old/outdated.

So now I wanna know, is Model Editing even possible with the latest patch?
Is race swapping possible (not morphing by a hack)?
Are those advanced model edits like whole new zones or zone reskins possible today?

    Thanks.

Many thing remain unchanged regarding model-editing from 4.x.x -> 5.x.x. There are, however, already discovered several changes in the files. Here's some of the recent research on how the terrain files are built in 5.x.x:
    MoP - WoWDev
To sum it up, it basically says that there's now 5 parts of an .adt instead of 4 (there were 4 in 4.x.x, and one in 3.x.x). A converter has already been invented by feangren (you might know him as spoutnik), and it can be downloaded here.

Regarding the .wdt file: Apparently, some changes have been made, but the old format does in my experience still work in 5.x.x

I've had some troubles with loading different M2's and wmo's - I'll have to research this. But to answer your question:
Yes, (probably) everything that was possible in 4.x.x is possible in 5.x.x - I guess that's why new guides haven't been made.

I'll just beg you to spoonfeed me now, but would those advanced model edits such as underground WG flag capping work nowadays?

This particular model edit consists of swapping the in-game terrain, WSG is lying on, with an edited terrain. Basically, you're doing an .adt swap, which works!
    - the problem would be to edit the 5.x.x .adt's in the first place; I don't think that can be done, since Noggit doesn't support other than 3.x.x files.

    But to answer your question:
Yes, underground WG flag capping would work after a file-conversion with above-mentioned converter.

EDIT: It's also a little more complicated to implement the models into live-servers. You need same launcher as in 4.x.x, but you should call your MPQ archive wow-update-base-17000 instead of the typical used 4.x.x 'wow-update-base-15800'.

If you give me an older WG flag-capping archive, I can try to update it.
