Getting back into model editing. Quick questions about how it currently works?

Howdy
I used to contribute swaps and edits to mmowned during WotLK then I quit about a year ago. I'm back now and trying to get back into model editing, i just need help getting back on track. Does model swapping and race swapping work under the current version (4.3.3)? Do we still use WoWME.exe and if so where do i get it? Will my old patch-Z.mpq files I made for WotLK race swaps still work?

Hmm...seeing as there is a lack of updated 4.3 race swap patches here and model editing tutorials links are all old and broken, I can only assume that the patch-X.MPQ method of model editing is no longer viable?
