Question: Basic Model Editing up-to-date

Alright, I'm sorry to post this but after 2 days of searching mmowned posts tat end up out-dated, contradictory or full of "zomg ne1 findeing virus's in teh fixz?!?11" I'm ready to pull all my hair out. I'm bald BTW so use your imagination as to where I would have to start pulling. Yeah, it will hurt. SO.......

Are we STILL as of TODAY able to use the edit fix to fix the wow.exe file, and create new .mpq's such as Speech2 for model editing? I tried to edit common.mpq and zomfg my better judgement told me not to, and I should've listened. However..some posts state that you NEED to do so, some say NEVER to. This topic seems to have gotten really confusing as of late. Could any l33t ed1t0rz please reply with a BASIC step-by-step for model editing (without specifics like druid bear form > gnomeregon steam-pump? lol) not just for me..but for everyone.

Again, I'm sorry I couldn't find what I was looking for through searching.

Yes. You need to create a MPQ containing the file trees (as well of the files)of the files you want to replace. Like patch-(3 to z here).mpq with files Character\Gnome\Male\GnomeMale.m2 inside it...

it's old and a bit outdated, but if you use common sense (AHMAGAD) it's pretty easy. i didn't even need the guide anymore after 2-3 days.
