New to model editing

Hey guys, I just started model editing last night and since I have some questions, I thought I would introduce myself. Anyway, I was able to edit DruidCat to Kel'Thuzzad<sp?> and thought that it would be cool to model Nefarion instead of DruidBear. Which leads me to my first (of serveral, im sure) question.

I only tried Nef with one (out of 3) textures. I'm assuming that you cannot apply his other two since druid bear uses only 1. After trolling the forums a bit and picking up tons of info, I decided to explore through dbc. I found "CreatureDisplayInfo" and though that if I could edit DruidBear (ID 2281) with Nef's (ID 11380) I could possibly get the last 2 textures to work. My question: Does dbc.mpq look at textures.mpq to obtain texture names, # of allowable textures, or anything like that? Also, would it be possible to add the edited textures and model to the same *.mpq file as the edited *.dbc file? Or am I WAY off?

Any sliver of help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.
