    Name some model editing projects?

    Dear Community,

I'm coming back to the WoW scene after about a year of absence, and I'm looking for a project to work on.

So - my question is: What are some of the bigger team editing projects that are going on right now? I would love to join a project that's customizing many aspects of the game (because I will learn more) but I'm not too picky.

My credentials, if you're part of a project that might need developer(s) (in the spoiler):

    [SPOILER]
    World of Warcraft Game Experience:
I started playing retail 3 months or so after it came out (~6.5 years). I quit just before Cataclysm started, but I have experience in everything post-cata. Basically I know the way Blizzard made the game very well, and I'm relatively familiar with lore.

    Private Server Emulation Experience:

-One of my first experiences was working to create the Moffeman Repack (One of the most used repacks for WotLK while it was in beta). The [Release] threads still exist: ( Version 1 (for WotLK 8820), Version 2 (for WotLK 8770), Version 3 (for WotLK 9183)).
Moffeman took the credit for the thread solely because he was the server host, but I did almost every minute of the DB work for the repack, and often had to fix mistakes he made. I'm not gonna get into that. [I worked under the alias "Alpha" in-game]

-A while later I started deving the database for World of Immortality. I worked there for quite a few months and gained a lot of experience.

-I'm very comfortable with in-game commands, macros, etc. I feel like that's just a given.

    Programming Experience:
-In college, I'm a Physics and Math double major, so I'm going to be learning a lot of computer programming. My current experience is limited (some html, a little Python), but I'm teaching myself quickly over the summer. I'll learn whatever language(s) best suit my editing job.

    Model Editing Experience:
-I'm good with photoshop. I can edit textures or whatever.
-My friend works as a graphic designer, and is very good with maya. I would gladly learn it.
-I have some experience with Noggit. I'm familiar with the interface, etc. But I have not released any major projects. I will learn this very quickly.
-I did minor model and texture swaps to customize my game in retail. Once again, no major releases. I hope to change that

    Other:
I'm not stupid, and I am very thorough with everything I do. I'm interested in this subject, so I will learn very quickly. I won't make halfass edits, and I don't want to join a project that would take people who do. I'm being showy because that's the point of an application, but I'm very agreeable and I almost never get in arguments. I'm in college now and I have a good deal of time to devote to a project, but I won't be pressured into putting it before my studies. I may have to take a weeklong break occasionally.

(but mainly I'm looking for an answer to my general question... so please respond!)

    Thanks a bunch,

    Ashyda

P.S. +5 REP if I join one of the projects you recommend

I dunno about big projects that are taking people other than Sirfranc's, but if you are serious about leaning programming you could look into file translation- improving import/export of models into 3d programs would be a huge step in improving model editing across the board.
