200 views and nobody even knows weather this is possible to do or not? I guess I missjudged MMOwned's userbase.
I think a dbc edit, or something like swapping the animation(? Dunno whether to call them particles or something) filenames in the mpq might work.. I'm camping and on my iPod right now, so I can't try it. XD
But when I'm home I'll give it a shot and get back to you. Sorry you had to wait so long for someone to reply. :/
Thanks alot!![]()
Okay well I tried to switch the animation files, but it didn't work. Even with a model edit fix. All I can think of is that I swapped the wrong files. I couldn't bring myself to sift through each and every animation in the Spells folder in Wowmodelviewer. And as for swapping the animation in Spells.dbc. Well, too many numbers. I couldn't find it. My head would've exploded first.
If you want to do that on your own, be my guest. Just tell me what the name of the animation is. But I'm done for today. xD. Sorry.
Sorry x) I have no idea what you're talking about =P I know nothing about computers/model editing. If you could show me what to do i could spend all time in the world searching for it.
WMV_Binary_v0701_r268_Win32.rar - wowmodelviewer - Version 0.7.0.1 r268 - Windows 32-bit Edition - Project Hosting on Google Code
That's WoWModelViewer.
You can view animations and models in it.
When you open it, select your WoW folder and let it open it. Then look in the sidebar. Click the "Spells" tab and a dropdown menu will open up, with a massive list of spell animations.
One of them has got to look like the animation that would be on top of your staff:

Yeah, thanks. I looked thru "spells" and found a +Enchancement thing you could press on. Mongoose and stuff was there and many other enchants. But nor fiery wep or +81sp :/ Maybe it isnt in this program?
It might not be in the enchantments folder. But good news. I've been staring mindlessly at my DBC files for a good hour, and I think I found a solution. Much simpler than a file swap. Alas, I am on my iPod again. XD
Good news everyone!
I've discovered a way to swap the animation, with this highly malfunctional piece of equipment called My Brain!
One must simply open the DBC file called "SpellItemEnchantment.dbc" and find the enchantment in question, +81 Spell power:

Now, scroll to the right until you find field #31. This is the reference to ItemVisuals.dbc, which determines the pretty glowing colours of enchantments..
This particular enchantment has the ItemVisual ID #172. Fiery weapon has the ID of 25. You can probably guess what to do now:
Change 172 to 25!
Save it!
Put it in an MPQ!
Run WoW!
Now dance to the shiny lights around your weapon, preferably to techno:
Dance damnit! I command you!
Alternatively, download this patch I already made for you.
