You won't find guides here how to make custom models in X 3d program. Your best bet is to google tutorials. Just search for tutorials that explains how you make things, for example back when I modeled in 3ds max I read a tutorial about how to make a katana, it contains the basics like how to make the model from shapes and how to add textures onto it etc. There are many ways of how you can make models, you can make low-poly or high-poly models for example, but that's all explained in some tutorials.
