Question. Adding fence plez read

So I made a ramp going on top of the front gate in sw. That was no problem. I shared with my friend and he was like it be cool to go I've to the other side. So I grab some fence and made a stair thing. ( I can add pic later). But when I saved it and made the patch. The fence was not on top were I put it. And I missing somthing. ?? Please help Ty
