Current custom model changing program?

Hey guys, this has been asked before. Nobody has really given an answer. So ill try again in-case someone has found a way.

What is the current system for editing WOTLK models and injecting them into the wow database and maybe re skinning an item to look like the edited model you provided? Is there even a way to do so anymore?

I have searched and looked through the guides but they are either 2-3years old or dont work anymore.

Does anyone have any insight they could provide? it would be much appreciated!
