Changes on Private Servers Only

Is there a way to make changes (model editing, model reskinning, world building, ect) on Private Servers only rather than changing my real server gameplay? Thank you.

You will need a separate copy of WoW to do that (or just remove the custom patch(es) before you go on retail servers)

Make sure you have enough space for the second copy!
