[Reskinning] Converting

Hello,

I have some questions about Reskinning..

How exactly can i reskin?

I've tried some BLP > PNG converters but the result is always the same, the skin appears to be in a weird white/black state, and opening it with Photoshop or something else doesnt show anything different. Its so blurry mixed with white and black that i cant make anything out of it, so im unable to edit it into something my liking.

When i try BLP > TGA converters, the picture is fine.. but when i finished editing and want to show it ingame, the skin is totally F'd up because of the Mip Maps not working correctly.

Anyone that can tell me how to do it? or is it just me thats using the wrong Converters?
