    GlueStrings.lua - Darn Server News is Protected!

    I've been looking around for a friend to find out where the server news URL is stored and I found it in plain site in the Interface/GlueXML/GlueStrings.lua file in the locale MPQ. Problem is, editing it pops up an error telling me my client is corrupted. Anyone know how WoW checks to see if this file is modified? I've tried modding the original locale and making a new patch or modifying an existing one. All of it leads either to an error or WoW hangs indefinitely. I've also tried renaming the Scan.dll but to no avail.

    The check is in the .exe. Search for GlueXML in IDA and patch the switch / case.
