'Checkerbox error' with Moonkin model edit

My first model edit in quite a while was from Ally Moonkin to Iron Dwarf, and in Dalaran it seemed to succeed (with the exception of one of the patting npc's being a 'checkerbox') until I went into the new ICC Heroics, all the mobs there were blue and white 'checkerboxes'.

Is this a known issue or a common mistake that could cause such an issue?

The Iron Dwarf ID was in Patch-enUS-2.MPQ, and the Moonkin in Patch-enUS.MPQ, if that is of any assistance.

Here's the file if you are interested to see it.

Its a DBC edit. Redo it as the CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc has changed.

After redoing the edit the checkerboxes are still there, running around Dalaran for a moment found that Shaman totems and several NPC's were affected.

Should I be doing these edits in the typical patch-something.MPQ, or actually editing the game's patch-enUS.MPQ files?

Also, I tried to change Moonkin to Noggenfogger Skeleton form, field7 in the CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc needs to go from having information to empty. When I delete the contents of the field and try to save it the DBCEditor program I have pops up with an 'unhandled exception'. Is there a different character I should be using in an empty field? Or is this just a problem with the program?

To clarify my methods, I used http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...-creature.html as a guide, replacing the fields 1, 3, 6, 7, and 8 of the Moonkin with the Iron Dwarf/Noggenfogger field entries.

You picked a old DBC and based your edit on that one. You need to pick the latest one.
