Model edits dont require mefix?

I read on another forum that you can log onto wow with a model edit, without the mefix now, and it does work, i tried it. But is it safe to use the model edits without the mefix?

It's safer than using the MEF.

As of patch 3.2.0, Model Edits (custom .MPQs) no longer require WoWMe.Exe.
