    How do you download files!

    Hey all,
    First post on MMOwned.

I need some help. Ive been a member for like 2 and a half months and I don't know how to make models, or extract them and run them for that matter. I've read all the guides there are and still can't find anything. What's WOWMe? Where do I get it if it helps extract and run files? Please, I need some help.

There are so many good models on here, and I want to help out too.

    Thanks

You don't downloaded files, they are in you wow folder (patch.mpq, common.mpq and patch-2.mpq). Wowme doesn't help extract models, it actavates the model edit, it's a model edit fix. I don't know much about making your own models but reskinning is a good place to start? Read Lex's reskinning guide to learn how to reskin. The program that is most commonly used in model editing is MyWarcraftStudio. For looking at models use Wow model viewer. Hope this info helps you getting started at model editing.

Im far from a pro regarding this. Although i've learned how to reskin, and the basics of 3d model edits. However, as a small guide ^^
As i havent started up with 3d model edits, i can't really help you alot with it. But i recommend that you get yourself 3ds Max or Milkshape 3d. But for reskins, it quite simple.
    You'll need:
BLPConverter and MyWarcraftStudio. Photoshop would aswell be great, but its not required, paint work aswell for amateur edits, as ive done this far ^^

However, you start off by launching MyWarcraftStudio. Then you have to pick the MPQ folder you wish to inspect, and extract files from (BLP is the skins, so you can simplify it by only showing .blp files). The MPQ files is in your World of Warcraft\Data folder. When you open a MPQ file, it shouldnt be hard to understand where to find what you search. (Weapons, Armors and some more is in WDB files deeper into Cache folder, not sure how to open that one up yet thou) However, when you've found the BLP file you want to edit/use, extract it anywhere. (The skin can be used on other creatures/character with unexpected results. One of my succeeded reskins using another blp file were NeFm in Naga Skin. Never got the head to work along with the body, just either head or body)

However, when you got the BLP file where you want it, drag it into Blp Converter. Wait some seconds, and you will have a png file. You can edit it using Photoshop, Paint or some other program like it. You can add tatoos, paint a smilie or anything at the skin. The skin aint directed to any specific creature yet. When youve finished editing your skin and want it into the game, you gotta create the MPQ file, using MyWarcraftStudio.
Let's for instance say that Human Male got 8 different skin colors (Not sure how many, its just an example) There will be different parts of it. Pelvis is the Hip of your character, Torso is the chest. FaceUpper is the forehead, FaceLower is the eyes, nose, mouth and neck. Also, there is a "Skin" one, wich is what i know the total one. Or rather the fully naked version of it all, that replaces the specific place with different gear so the underwear wont be shown along with the gear. Also, on these blp files with skin, torso, pelvis and such there is numbers. Something like 00:02 or however it is. The second 2 numbers (In this case 02) is the skincolor, as a set. Extract all of the skin parts of the specific color you want if you want a full reskin on thesame color. The 2 first numbers (In this case 00) is the style. Mostly used in faces. However, when youve come to make your MPQ file using MyWarcraftStudio, and got all of your skin parts extracted and edited, its time to add files to the recently created MPQ file (Create it in your data folder). Press the "..." and choose the file. Let's say you earlier on extracted NakedPelvis_00_02.blp for human male, then you need the copypath as you could just aswell copy after youve extracted the blp file from the mpq.
When you choose the file you want to get into the new MPQ file, choose file (NakedPelvis_00_02, the edited one.) but when youve choosed it, dont press "OK" instead, change the text that appeared to the basic copypath of the .blp you extracted it from. In this case, something like Character\Human\Male\NakedPelvis_00_02.blp and then press "OK". If youve done it correct, the pelvis (hip) will now have the texture you edited it to. To add several changes in one MPQ, simply repeat with the other files.

Sorry that the guide is so freaking long and confusing, but first guide i make about this

So yah,. Lex reskinning guide would undoubtly be better. However, good luck If there is any problems about reskinning, just tell and ill do my best.
