    MPQ files not showing up in Model Viewer? :p

    Hello, I am having issues with my MPQ file. I recently edited a batch of BElf skins and such, converted them to BLP and put them all inside one MPQ file using MyWarcraft Studio; all of the skins show up there just fine when I click to preview them. The catch- when I copy my MPQ file into my WoW model viewer folder and load it again using (options>settings>add>pack-Alex.mpq) and try to find/view my file, it won't show up like it doesn't even exist.
    Anyone have any ideas on what's going on?

    Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope some one can help. :wave:
    Best regards,
    Alex

    Hmm just a guess, but make sure you have admin privileges in WoWMV

    Rename to 'patch-x'
    Change '.mpq' to '.MPQ'

    Get to WMV/Usersettings and open the "Config" File. Look for a text
    that starts with: MPQFiles="and so on"
    Here you edit your MPQ you want to be showed in WMV.
    For example:
    MPQFiles=C:\\Local Disc C\\Program\\World of Warcraft\\Data\\Patch-X.mpq; <----- And make sure you make a ";" after you named you patch file so you can add another one later on. You shall not move or copy your MPQ file to this folder.

    Thank you for all the fast replies, I appreciate it immensely. :]
    I tried renaming the file to pack-x.MPQ, I checked the Config file: apparently the pack is in the system and working-
    "UseLocalFiles=1
    SSCounter=1
    DefaultFormat=0
    MPQFiles=C:\\Documents and Settings\\Alex\\Desktop\\WoWModelViewer\\pack-X.MPQ;""

    also, yes i'm pretty sure I have admin priv. as i've had other user-made MPQ files work previously on my WoWMW. I`m starting to think it`s a problem with the set up of my MPQ file and not the WoWMV :c

    ^my files looking right?
    is there a limit in the text for the names or somethin'?
    &yes ea. file has a different end # [x

    **update: dreanei1 on the WoWSkins Yahoo group said that apparently the file must remain the same size and have the same name as the file that it originated from, I did not know know this so apparently mystery solved.
