Tauren female -> draenei female. horn problem.

so for a long ass time i've been trying to swap female taurens with female draeneis, but horns didn't work.

i've looked around in this forum for a while and found this topic: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/simple...-horn-fix.html

i followed it, extracted the dbc files, edited it (in my case, race 6 and gender 1 i believe), put it in a new mpq file in my enGB (using European version), but now that file makes wow close just after starting it. i named the file "patch-enGB-3.MPQ".

when removing the file wow starts fine.

this is the first time i mess with a DBC file, so i'm probably doing that wrong, i couldn't edit the file in MyWarcraftStudio, used DBCUtil, opened the cvs file with excel, edited, saved and used DBCUtil again. i opened the patch with MyWarcraftStudio and the dbc file seems fine. has the correct treepath too.

i doubt anyone can do this for me (i wish) so what am i doing wrong?

Tauren female -> draenei female. horn problem.

Do you have model edit fix? If not, search for Model edit fix by Kynox in Bots, Hacks and Programs section and then use wowme.exe to launch WoW. Maybe it will work then.

I have pretty much the same problem...
model edited orc male > draenei female
Seems to basically work fine accept that the horns don't show up, instead i just get holes where the horns should be >_<

"patch-enGB-3.MPQ" is your problem. Name it "patch-3.MPQ". I did a horn edit a few days ago and named it normally and it worked fine.

I had a pretty much perfect Tauren > Draenei fix when I played last year with working horns and without the wandering textures (i.e. actual tauren horn texture on the tail)... but quit in June '07 and just came back a few weeks ago... looks as though I still have the folders I created the MPQ files from, I just need to figure out which programs to install again to create the necessary files. Gimme a little bit and let me see what I can come up with.
