Water ele to Ahune!

Alright so im gonna try to simplify this as much as possible! all i want is to convert mage Water Elemental into Ahune the Frostlord! (also is this resizable to a characters size? i dont want kno GIGANTIC thing bogging my view. lol thats what she said) anywho i attempted this on my own but i cant figure it out, wont work =( i found the water elemental under the:
"patch-common.MPQ [CREATURE\WaterElemental\WaterElemental.m2]"
and i found Ahunes model under the "patch.MPQ [Creature\FrostLord\FrostLord.M2]"
i tried to make it easy locating and if u can do this or help me do this plz reply! thanks, also ill post a patch of my original one that DOESNT work just so maybe u can look at it and correct my mistakes plz. :wave:

You fool! You have to rename the model name aswell!
See your problem is that its still called "Frostlord.M2"

Fixed it for you

Corrected patch-k.MPQ -> patch-L.MPQ

Now you can just go ahead and unpack it, use Glitchy's Model Resizer and pack it again

woots! so all i did wrong was forget to rename the m2? what do i name it to? the actualy name of what im changing so i would rename FrostLord.m2 into WaterElemental.m2 im guessing? o and how do i rename =X. also THANKS YOU SO MUCH!

This is correct.


To rename
Extract it with MyWarCraftStudio then rename it like you would with any file.
Right click the icon and select "Rename" from the menu.

/sigh NVM AGAIN! i do need help i reduced it to 5 times smaller and it was still big so i reduced it again 7 times, and i didnt touch the x,y,z axis and i left it at 0, now i dont see him and theres a problem anyway there still i HUGE cyclone of like ice takeing over ogrimmar on my screen and i reduce the spell effect too? and idk if i cant see him cause the 7 more times made him micro scopic theres no way he wouldnt be that small, so maybe hes like underground since hes offset? what would i set axis to?

It doesn't work well, even when you resize him. He is too big. You would have to slow down Ahune's animations also. When you shrink him down, he bobs too much.

=( well alright thats cool, just think he looks so pimp but ok im trying to do this with other items and my mistake earlier was i just never renamed the file to what im changing, so i extracted the file i want it edited into onto my desktop and i renamed it G_DragonEggChromatic.M2 cause i want the dragon egg turned into another item, but when i go to add file to MWCS and i type in World/GOOBER/G_DragonEggChromatic.M2 and hit open or save or whatever it says it just doesnt do anyhting...like doesnt add it or add a file or anyhting, it acts as if i hit cancel =/ y wont this work??

also when i do want to resize an object im guessing i gotta make a patch? cause it wont let me open up any patches in data folder but when i DO resize do i need t worry about x,y,z axis? if so how do i kno what to set them to?
