exporting models for 3ds max or Maya

Is it possible, I did a search & found nothing, to export these complete with bones etc etc etc to a 3d Studio Max, Maya, or XSI format for some serious model editing? IE create a whole new race? I can do re-textures & have been for a while for CSS etc etc but I reckon a whole new model for say.... night elves & then a re-texture would be ace, could also make better high rez models for those with better graphics cards!

let me know I'd be VERY interested in ripping these out (PS I am on vista, if you post about modelviewer I tried & it won't launch, it can't find the new librarys in vista)

No export exists that preserves bones, animations or UV coordinates. They only crate seperate meshes.
