    [Recolor/Reskin] Skyshatter

I looked up the guides, but I lack the programs to do the follow up to do this myself.

I'm requesting a white skyshatter gear (for the elemental version, shaman t6). Goal would be White with Black/Purple highlights.

Obviously +Rep if anyone can do this for me, as little as that means coming from me.

Ok, so I gave it a try.

The problem I discovered though was, I have absolutely no idea which texture file I'm suppose to edit. After going through all of the guides I could find here, they all tell you how to edit a mount, or a creature (i.e. void walker). Problem with gear is there's like 50 of the same texture with different colors.

I gave it a shot with one of them, recolored it, brought it in, loaded it, but nothing changed. I'm guessing I picked the wrong one to edit.

Is there an easy way to figure out which one to edit? I really don't want to have to try each one.

Hmm, I'm definitely doing something wrong.

I followed and extracted those files, recolored them to black and white (I took a screenshot and tested how I wanted to change the coloring as a whole first and then copied the filter over), recompiled them with the correct tree paths, but when I load it, all that happens is the item is either:
    1) completely invisible
    2) causes very strange coloring on my characters skin, but still shows no armor.

    Referencing this guide
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ome-skins.html

    Screenshot:

And below is a screenshot of what I was going for (ignore that it the filter applied to the character as well)

    Any help would be appreciated.

That would probably explain it. I didn't know it was something different.

Anyone have a link to a guide to recolor models?

Not really worth it to write a guide about it, just open the model file with photoshop/paint and be creative

So then what I did was correct.

Then I'm back to where I was in the post above, why is the stuff not showing correctly?

I just went through that guide and tried it out but it works for me, perhaps you don't use the MEfix?

I do, I normally run a Draenei Female to Gnome Female model edit with Lightning Bolt changed to Incinerate and a few other minor spell graphic changes (Hex Head graphic changed to Natural Alignment Crystal, etc), and I manually made all of them since Glitchy's program doesn't do Draenei changes very well yet.

I'll list the steps I went through and maybe you can catch something that I'm not.

    1) Extracted all the .blp files listed in the second reply to this post and converted them to png files.
    2) Opened them with Photoshop and applied the changes to them that I wanted (black and white) and saved them into a new folder with the same names.
    3) made a new .mpq file with these .blp files imported in with the tree path listed in the post above (which is where I found them, and yes I added the \ in between).

    Did I miss something?

Delete them out of the actual blizzard Patch.mpq?

or delete them where I converted them? Because I saved the custom files in a new folder so when I convert them back it saves them as completely separate files. Either way I still deleted the other .blp files (which were in a different folder).

Unless I'm misunderstanding (which is highly likely at 4am)

Ok, well I definitely did it right.

When I load it up in WoW Model Viewer, it works perfectly (save the display issue with the elemental chest to begin with), however when I load the actual game I get the exact issue as posted above, except that the shoulders and helm work, but the gloves, legs, and chest do not.

Here's a screenshot of it in WMV
